Privacy policy
Last updated October 2026
This policy explains what [Legal business name] (“zaap”, “we”) collects when you use the zaap app and zaap.live, why, and the choices you have. Contact: [support email], [registered address].
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, mobile number and a hashed password.
- Delivery details: saved addresses, house/flat number, landmark and the map pin you set.
- Location: your device location, only while you use the app and only when you tap “Use my location”, to find your nearest store and set your delivery pin. We don't track location in the background.
- Orders: items, amounts, delivery status and your chat messages with the store.
- Payments: handled by Razorpay. We receive payment and order references, never your card or UPI details.
- Notifications: a push token for your device, if you turn notifications on.
How we use it
- To show what's in stock near you, fulfil and deliver your orders, and process refunds.
- To send order updates and store messages by notification, if you allow it.
- To prevent fraud and meet legal and tax obligations.
We don't sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
- The dark store and delivery partner fulfilling your order (name, phone, delivery address).
- Service providers: Razorpay (payments), LocationIQ (maps and addresses), Google Firebase and Apple (push notifications), and our hosting provider.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Account → Delete account, or at zaap.live/account/delete. We then remove your name, email, phone, addresses, delivery details on past orders, your chat messages and push tokens. Order amounts and dates are kept, unlinked from you, as required for tax records.
Your choices
- Turn location or notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it: [support email].
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date above.
