What it does

The DRV8825 Stepper Motor Module is a high-performance stepper driver offering up to 1/32 microstepping and higher current capacity than the A4988. It is ideal for high-torque stepper applications and precision motion control.

Good to know

  • CRITICAL: Adjust current limit BEFORE connecting motor
  • Formula: Current Limit = Vref × 2 (for DRV8825)
  • Heatsink + cooling fan REQUIRED for >1.5A operation
  • Higher microstepping reduces torque – balance resolution vs power
  • Do not disconnect motor while powered – will destroy driver
  • MODE0, MODE1, MODE2 pins set microstep resolution
